As a young girl, she dreamt of opening gifts under the Christmas tree with a little girl of her own. Becoming a mother was all she really wanted and when she became pregnant, she’d already picked out a name for the child growing inside her.
Yet there are no presents under the tree for the baby girl Melissa Dyer (38) named Jenna-May. She won’t get to sing carols for her daughter or cook her favourite dish.
Jenna-May died tragically when Melissa was shot in her stomach 14 years ago in a crime that made headlines and created widespread shock.
