She’d wanted nothing more than to see justice served. After losing her only daughter at the hands of a doctor she trusted, she spent more than a decade calling him to account.

And the drawn-out legal battle didn’t just take a toll on her finances – it impacted her health and cost her her marriage too.

So Buyiselwa Daweti heaved a sigh of relief when gynaecologist Dr Danie van der Walt’s gross negligence was found to have caused the death of her beloved daughter, Pamela.
