As far as daddy’s girls go, this kid is in a league of her own. She loves spending time with her Daddy, makes sure he always has his special treats and is kept cosy and comfortable.
Except in her case Daddy isn’t her father – he’s a 2,8-m python that clocks the scales at 30kg and could crush her in a heartbeat.
But 16-year-old Christon Kriel knows her stuff. Daddy is just one of the 51 reptiles she keeps at home in Bethlehem in the Free State – a collection of cold-blooded creatures that includes 29 pythons and numerous chameleons, lizards and bearded dragons.
