A black and white dog with striking blue eyes is perched on his lap and the woman he chose from a bevy of beauties is by his side.

Right now, life is pretty good for Marc Buckner and Marisia van Wyk. Home is near the seaside in Cape Town where they can often be seen working out together in the sunshine and they have grand plans for the future.

But it hasn’t all been moonlight and red roses for the couple, who shot to fame in the second season of The Bachelor SA. Their road to love has navigated a few potholes and they had their hearts broken when their beloved dogs were tragically killed earlier this year.
