This family lost three loved ones in the span of a few weeks.

Just three weeks after their father passed away due to health-related issues, brothers Ghulam (59) and Raza Abbas (53) from Newport in England died side-by-side hours apart in intensive care after contracting thecoronavirus.

Raza had been in a coma since a day after their father passed and Ghulam soon followed when he was admitted to the Royal Gwent Hospital after also testing positive for the virus.

After their passing the brothers were buried alongside each other, not far from where their father was laid to rest.

The Abbas family run a newsagent store in Newport since 1982 and is well-known by the community, the Daily Mail reports.

Ghulam’s daughter, Rukhsar, says she was surprised to see how well known her family members were as well as the impact her father and uncle had on others after receiving numerous messages of support.

“We’ve had so many messages of support from members of the community and further afield, and even MPs have contacted us with their condolences,” Rukhsar says.

“It just shows the kind of men they were. We’re all totally heartbroken but so proud of them.”
