The rapidly growing pandemic has resulted in this grandad meeting his newborn grandson through the window.

The unidentified grandfather couldn’t wait to see the new addition to his family, known only as Faolán, and was determined to make it happen.

Twitter user Emma shared the precious moment on her feed, Mirror reported.

In the post, Emma revealed that Faolán was her nephew, and because of social distancing – a safety protocol to curb the spreading of the deadly Covid-19 virus – the newborn was introduced to his granddad through the window.

In the post her brother Míchéal can be seen holding his son near the window, with his dad peering in to get a closer look of the baby.

“My dad is also doing well and is completely oblivious to his new fame,” Emma tweeted.

Luckily her father lives only two minutes away and should be able to cuddle his adorable grandson in the near future.

“My brother lives about two minutes away from him so he went up to say hello. He knew he couldn’t come in. He’s looking forward to holding the baby soon.”
