Meet the man attempting to end his addiction to fizzy drinks.

Rohit Roygre from Melbourne, Australia, has been struggling with his unhealthy addiction.

After being advised to pursue a healthier lifestyle, he decided to give up his beloved soda drinks.

On 7 June, the Australian started documenting his ‘no fizzy drinks’ journey by uploading a video every day on TikTok in an attempt to hold himself accountable and to inspire others to overcome their addiction.

“I started drinking at the age of five and six and it [has] never happened in 35 years that I have never went 49 days, so I’m so happy now,” Rohit said less than a week ago.

Rohit, who’s now on day 55 of his journey, is motivated to continue staying away from soda.

“Before I used to have fizzy drinks, I was so confident that even if you blindfold me I’d be able to tell you the difference between all fizzy drinks just by taste. Even if you give me zero sugar or full sugar, I could still tell the difference.

“I found it really funny [and wondered] what my ability is now. Maybe I can only tell the difference between water and lemon water now, which I’m happy about,” he told his 223 000 TikTok fans, who have been captivated by his story.

“I’m trying to get healthier and fitter now. I don’t want to delay it any longer,” he said.

Rohit revealed that he’s now able to walk around in the mall without experiencing shortness of breath or feeling tired. He also feels more energetic than usual.

If you scroll down his TikTok timeline, there’s an undeniable difference: he’s lost a few centimetres and it’s more noticeable when you look at his jawline.

Rohit plans to go 100 days without drinking soda and his followers have been inspired by his progress, saying they’re making changes in their own life.
