His friends and family are all in shock over the shooting of 34-year-old Johan Reed from Alberton, Gauteng, a friend says.

Johan was sitting in his car in front of Virgin Active gym in Meyersdal, Alberton, on Monday when he was shot 11 times. He died on the scene.

“He treated everyone he met so well,” says the friend, a businesswoman who’d prefer to stay anonymous.

Family and friends of John are having a memorial service today in the Dutch Reformed church Verwoerdpark, Alberton.

He was shot 11 times in what looked to be an assassination, Netwerk24 reports. Police spokesman, Brigadier Mathapelo Peters, has been unable to confirm this at this point.

Police started their investigation on Monday but by Friday morning, no suspects had been arrested.

Ramon Gouws, family spokesman, wrote on Facebook that Johan’s friends and family would be coming together to remember Johan, who’d touched many lives in his life.

They’d be celebrating the “gentle giant’s full life”.
