Surfing might not be a possibility for many at the moment, but this surfer found a way to bring the waves to his living room.

Thomas Cervetti (30), a French student living in Malaysia, spent four days shooting a stop-motion video of himself “surfing” in his home.

In the clip, the civil engineer, who usually goes surfing a few times a month, appears to be surfing while lying on his living-room floor. Thomas recreated the waves using blue sheets and towels.

“I’d say that I surf twice a month, like weekend trips,” Thomas explained.

In the series of pictures, he can also be seen picking up litter in the recreated sand as he highlights the problem of plastic pollution.

“Look at the pictures carefully. I pick up an empty beer bottle when putting my board in the sand at the beginning.

“I’m picking up trash on the beach and putting it in a bin before leaving the ocean,” he added.

Thomas said he was inspired to make the video after watching online clips.
