It seems as if this little raccoon is playing its part in a bid to combat the global coronavirus pandemic.

The raccoon from the Jaguar Rescue Centre in Costa Rica, Central America, has become a viral sensation after it was captured meticulously washing its hands for 20-30 seconds, People reports.

In the video that was shared onto the Facebook page of the rescue centre, which seeks to rehabilitate as well as care for abused and orphaned wildlife, the little animal can be seen washing its hands over a pink bowl.

“This little guy wanted to remind you to wash your hands for 20-30 seconds! Stay safe!” the video caption read.

The post has since received more than 100 000 shares and more than 70 000 comments.
