750ml (3c) self-raising flour
5ml (1t) salt
250ml (1c) warm water
oil for deep frying
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt and water and knead to a smooth dough.
- Heat the oil in a large pot.
- Divide the dough into 12 balls and fry in the hot oil until golden.
- Remove the vetkoek from the oil and drain on kitchen towel.
- Serve with fillings of your choice.
