Try this delicious KOO Chilli Con Carne recipe which calls for KOO Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce and KOO Black Beans in Mexican Style Sauce or experiment with the variety of KOO Bean flavours to create your own family favourite.

KOO chilli con carne

Serves 4 | Preparation: 15 min | Cooking: 45 min


60ml (4T) sunflower oil

2 medium onions, chopped

500g lean beef mince

3 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped

2 red chillies, chopped

5ml (1t) cayenne pepper

10ml (2t) ground coriander

500ml (2c) beef stock

1 can (410g) diced peeled tomatoes

1 can (410g) KOO Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce (or your favourite flavour of KOO Baked Beans)

1 can (410g) KOO Black Beans in Mexican Style Sauce

45ml (3T) KOO Tomato Paste

15ml (1T) sugar

5ml (1t) dried oregano

2 bay leaves

salt and freshly ground black pepper

To serve


Fresh herbs

Chopped chilli


  • In a large saucepan heat the oil and fry the onions and mince until the mince is brown, about 5 minutes. Stir the mince and break up lumps with a wooden spoon.
  • Add the garlic, chillies, cayenne pepper and coriander, and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add the stock, tomatoes, KOO Baked Beans, KOO Black Beans, KOO Tomato Paste, sugar, oregano and bay leaves. Season with the salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Bring to a simmer, cover with a lid and cook gently for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally until the mince is tender and the sauce is thick.

To serve:

Serve over rice and garnish with fresh herbs and chopped chilli.
