He’s never been one to mince his words and, true to form, Donald Trump launched into a blistering attack on TV recently. And this time, the target was the Duchess of Sussex.
During an interview on British TV channel GB News in Florida earlier this week, the former US president accused Meghan of horribly manipulating Prince Harry, whom she wed in 2018, and of hurting the prince’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth.
On the subject of the British royal family and Megxit, Trump (75) pressed home the fact that he believes the former Suits actress is using Harry.
“I’m not a fan of hers. I wasn’t from day one,” he told former UK politician Nigel Farage, who now hosts his own talk show. “I think Harry has been used horribly and I think some day he’ll regret it. I think it’s ruined his relationship with his family, and it hurts the queen.”
He also described it as inappropriate when Meghan recently lobbied certain US Congress members to revoke unpaid maternity leave.
Trump has previously spoken of his fondness for the UK’s queen, saying he was raised to respect her because his mother, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump, was from Scotland.

The former reality TV star has been vocal in his dislike of Meghan before, telling American TV channel Fox News earlier this year that he’s “not a fan of hers”.
Last year he repeated his sentiments after Meghan (40) and Harry (37) were accused of interfering in the US presidential election campaign when they urged voters to “reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity”.
Their words were largely seen as pro the Democratic Party and a snub to Trump, a Republican, who went on to say he wished Harry luck as “he’s going to need it”.
In 2019 he also called the duchess nasty because of her past criticism of him. She reportedly labelled him misogynistic and divisive during his 2016 presidential campaign.
In March, Trump told Fox News that if Meghan runs for the White House in 2024, it would spur him on. “I hope that happens because if it did I think I’d have an even stronger feeling towards running.”
