Just hours after Buckingham Palace broke the news that she was expecting her first baby, Princess Beatrice (32) debuted her blossoming bump.
The 32-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson looked radiant as she stepped out in a hot-pink dress teamed with a chic black jacket with her Italian property developer husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (38), in London.
The baby news was announced on Wednesday 19 May, which also happened to be the third anniversary of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – a move many astute royal fans dubbed “reverse thunder stealing”.
Back in October 2018 Meghan reportedly broke the news of her first pregnancy at Beatrice’s younger sister, Princess Eugenie’s wedding, in what many dubbed a “thunder-stealing” moment.
In their explosive book Royals at War: The Untold Story of Harry and Meghan's Shocking Split with the House of Windsor, journalists Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett claimed Meghan “embarrassed Harry” in what was perceived to be a “huge social gaffe” which left the bride and her mother “furious”.
When Beatrice announced her baby news, social media users were quick to comment with one writing, “Here comes Karma!” and another, “I love it. A little karma/poetic justice.”
According to a palace press release, Beatrice’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, has been informed of the pregnancy and “both families are delighted”.
For Her Majesty, the news couldn’t have come at a better time after what can only be described as a horrid few months – marked by the death of her husband, Prince Philip, in April; followed more recently by the unexpected passing of her new dorgi pup, Fergus.

The baby, whose gender has not been revealed, is due in October and will be a second grandchild for Andrew and Fergie who in February welcomed Eugenie’s first child, a boy named August.
Beatrice's tot will be 11th in line to the throne, but will not have a royal title as they are only brought down through the male royal line. He or she will be known as plain Master or Miss Mapelli Mozzi.
The baby will become part of a blended family. Edo, whom Beatrice married on 17 July last year, is already a father to a young boy named Wolfie (6), whose mother is his ex-partner, Dara Huang.
Of course, the British bookies have already jumped onto the name guessing game, with Philip leading the odds at 3/1 if it’s a boy– in tribute to Bea’s grandfather, Prince Philip. Second and third are Arthur and Albert.
The traditional Alice, Victoria and Elizabeth are the favourite girl names, however because Beatrice and Edoardo aren’t working royals, they may opt for a less conventional name.
