Five designer dresses, two days, dozens of guests dressed in all their finery and a romantic venue fit for a princess. All this and more went down the day Lady Kitty Spencer said “I do” to South African-born billionaire Michael Lewis at an occasion dripping in glamour and oozing wealth and privilege.

Kitty, niece of the late Princess Diana, daughter of Charles Spencer, cousin of William and Harry and sister to a genetically blessed brood of siblings, made sure her wedding to her much-older groom was an affair to remember.

Festivities kicked off with a rehearsal dinner at the opulent Galleria Del Cardinale, a historical event venue in Rome, after which guests headed to their rooms at the exquisite five-star Hotel de la Ville, where accommodation costs around R20 000 a night.
