And so, after more than six fraught months in South Africa and four long and mostly silent months in a clinic in Europe, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco is finally home.

The 44-year-old slipped back to the principality without much fanfare to be reunited with husband Prince Albert and their seven-year-old twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella – although by all accounts, it will be a while before the world sees her in the full throes of royal duty again.

“The princess is doing much better and has put on some weight,” a close source tells YOU.
