He wouldn’t look out of place on a catwalk or on the fashion pages of a magazine, but Princess Margaret’s grandson has far more noble things to do – like row around Britain to raise money for charity.

Arthur Chatto, the 21-year-old great nephew of the queen, recently completed an epic 3 218 km trek – called the GB Row Challenge – with three friends.

The easy-on-the-eye youngster – whose mother is Princess Margaret’s daughter, Lady Sarah Chatto (56) – shared the news on the team’s Instagram account along with a video of the team jumping into the Thames River.

What. A. Feeling. We’re done!!! . 1820 miles in 42 days 8 hours 23 minutes and 16 seconds, and after battling just about every hazard and adverse condition that Britain could throw at us, we’ve made it back to Tower Bridge in London and have completed our circumnavigation of the UK mainland, becoming the record holders for the youngest team ever to do so ?? . Because of the weather, we’ve finished about two weeks later than we’d hoped, and had to work so hard to make every mile. Please help us make all our hard work worth it - the link to our JustGiving page is in our bio and on our website, and it’ll be open for a while yet so please consider donating to our two charities @justoneocean and @britishredcross - their vital work has been the basis of our expedition, and needs your support! Huge thanks to everyone that’s already donated - we’ve raised over £20,000 so far, let’s keep it going!! . Massive thanks to all our sponsors as well for making this all possible, especially our chief sponsors @clarity_enviro and @allsportsnu who came through in the middle of a global pandemic to make our expedition a reality - we’re so grateful, and know our charities are too! . Now time for a shower, and an uninterrupted night’s sleep...?????? . . #finished #jobdone #home #GreatBritishRow #TowerBridge #London #roundBritain #circumnavigation #oceanrowing #heavyweatherspecialists

“We are thrilled to announce we finished the GB Row under tower bridge in 42 days 8 hrs 23 mins 16 seconds and became the youngest team ever to row around Great Britain. It was an amazing moment and made it all worth it.”

The challenge saw the quartet set off on 8 July from London Bridge and raise a whopping £21 500 (about R485 700) which will be shared between the Just One Ocean charity and the British Red Cross.

But for all those wondering, he’s taken. Long-term girlfriend and fellow student Lizzie Friend was among those waiting to welcome him home at St Katherine Docks along with his father, Daniel Chatto and brother, Samuel (24).

The queen is said to be delighted with one’s grandson.
