Hollywood actress Kristen Stewart is having no trouble channelling the tortured Princess Diana – as a new promo shot shows.
In the dramatic pic, which was tweeted by the production company of her new film, Spencer, the 30-year-old American lies crumpled on the floor, apparently sobbing into the fabric of her voluminous white ballgown.
Every fairy tale ends.

A teaser that appears on the photo reads simply, “Every fairytale ends.”
While the gown bears a distinct resemblance to one Diana wore on an official visit to the Elysée Palace in Paris in 1988, the film plays out during a “critical” weekend in the early ’90s when Diana spent one of her final Christmases at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England.
It’s believed it was during this time Diana decided her marriage to Prince Charles was over.
The couple formally separated in 1992 but their divorce was finalised only in August 1996, a year before the tragic death of the People’s Princess in a car accident in Paris.
The movie, which is directed by Pablo Larraín (who directed 2006’s Jackie) and stars Poldark actor Jack Farthing as Prince Charles, was filmed mostly at the Schloss Marquardt in Potsdam, Germany.
While Kristen found taking on the role rather daunting as she’s American and didn’t grow up in England with the royal culture, she says she’s now obsessed with Diana as she’s found out more about her remarkable life.
“Before this, she [Diana] was not something that was at the forefront of my mind, because I lived so far away from it all. Now I can’t stop thinking about her.
“I often wonder what she’d think about what’s going on in the world right now. To be honest, I’ve now consumed pretty much all there is to consume in terms of videos and interviews. I’ve watched everything that you could hear or see. I even go to sleep with it on.”
Now fans can’t wait to see the haunting nuance that all this intense preparation will bring to her onscreen performance.
The film began production in January and is set to be released on 5 November.
She was always Diana Spencer.
