Royal experts weigh in on the pressure Kate now faces as she steps back into the spotlight after a three-month pandemic lockdown.
The Duchess of Cambridge has returned to active public duty following the United Kingdom’s three-month coronavirus lockdown. For weeks she and William kept up their royal engagements via video conferences but now, as the UK eases restrictions ahead of the summer season, she has started making in-person appearances again.
It’s all part of the preparations the mother of three is making for her future role of queen, PEOPLE reports.

A report in Tatler magazine recently said Kate was feeling the pressure after Harry and Meghan bowed out of active royal duty and felt she had been “thrown under the bus”. She had wanted to spend more time with kids George (6), Charlotte (5) and Louis (2) but was “working as hard as a CEO”.
Kate and William were so enraged by the report they indicated they would be taking legal action against the publication – but some royal experts say there is little doubt the duchess is feeling the heat, even if she does appear to be taking it in her stride.
“Those who know her say there is a real core of strength, and she did set her mind to the job,” said royal author Sarah Gristwood says.
“But at the same time, she’d have to be superhuman not to feel the pressure.”
The Megxit saga has pushed Kate even closer to front and centre of the royal family.
“Without Meghan and Harry, there is going to be a phenomenal workload on Catherine and William,” a source close to the royal family said.
“None of the older [generations] can do it all. The pressure is on the two of them.”
However, a source close to the palace claims Kate “certainly would resent someone saying she’s struggling”.
“If anything, she is relishing the role more than ever. And she will do it all to the best of her ability.”
According to The Stir, Kate’s closest confidantes claim she is doing just fine.
From past experiences, it would appear that the Duchess of Cambridge is a woman with superhuman abilities.
“Catherine is the sort of woman who will take on whatever she needs to. If she needs to step up to the plate, she does it -- and she always has,” a royal insider said.
