Scores of South Africans will be able to relate.

Ever since Prince Harry left the shores of his homeland he has been longing for rugby – the game he loves most of all.

In an Instagram video shared by England Rugby, the Duke of Sussex admitted to missing the sport after relocating to Los Angeles with Meghan and their one-year-old son Archie.

The video was shared in conjunction with England Rugby’s Pitch In campaign aimed at assisting English ruby teams in supporting their communities through various charities.

“We all miss rugby,” the 35-year-old prince says in the two-minute clip, which features current England captain Owen Farrell and highlights the importance of the sport.

The sport has been suspended in the UK since 20 March although local ruby clubs have continued to provide essential workers and communities in need with food deliveries.

Prince Harry, a devout fan of the game, is honorary president of England Rugby and was in Yokohama, Japan, last year to watch England getting thumped by South Africa in the finals of the Rugby World Cup.

Ever gracious, the duke shared an endearing moment with President Cyril Ramaphosa congratulating him on the nation’s win – and then famously went to the Bok changing room afterwards to have a word with the guys.
