It’s official: Princess Diana is the most attractive royal of all time.

The late mother of Princes Harry and William has topped a list based on the golden ratio – a formula devised by the ancient Greeks that determines ‘physical perfection’ based on the symmetry and ratios of facial features.

Top UK surgeon Dr Julian De Silva ran the mathematical formula on some of the most famous royals and found that the late People’s Princess came out tops.

“She was several points ahead of Meghan and Kate and just pipped the stunningly attractive Queen Rania to the title of most beautiful royal of all time,” he told the UK’s Daily Mail.

De Silva runs the Centre For Advanced Facial Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery in London, which has developed the age-old formula into sophisticated computerised facial mapping techniques.

According to his calculations the top five royal beauties are:

1 Princess Diana - 89.05%

2 Queen Rania of Jordan – 88.9%

3 Grace Kelly of Monaco – 88.8%

4 Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle – 87.4%

5 Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton – 86.8%

The golden ratio of beauty originates from the European renaissance and was used by artists and architects to help them create their masterpieces.

The ratio can be applied to anything from a person’s face to a flower and was famously used by Leonardo Da Vince to create the perfect male body in his famous work, the Vitruvian Man.
