Where would a gal be without her trusty hairdryer, straightener or tongs? Whether it’s to calm the frizz, straighten, wave or curl, most of us depend on our heat styling tools for one reason or another. 

But we’ve all heard it said that too much heat, or heat applied the wrong way, can damage our hair. So how much is too much and what temperature should we be setting our devices to?

According to Dr Tim Moore, chief technology officer at Ghd, leaving hair to dry naturally can be more damaging than blow-drying, and going to bed with wet hair can give you split ends.
