Valentine’s Day is almost upon us and while love might be in the air for some, others could be trying to get over a heartbreak. And what better way to do that than with a little bit of humour.

According to Mirror, Hemsley Conservation Centre (HCC), a zoo based in the United Kingdom, is selling cockroaches for R29 to singletons under an initiative dubbed “name a cockroach”.

Once you’ve adopted your roach, you will receive certification acknowledging the purchase.

But the pest will remain enclosed in the zoo’s insect embodiment and names will appear on the roach board, The Sun reports.

In a statement on its website, HCC said that the money collected from the programme will be used towards funding the zoo.

That’s one way of doing something bad for a good cause.
