Big Sean thinks he and Ariana Grande “have great chemistry”. The musicians have collaborated on songs including Best Mistake, Right There and Problem, and rumours are rampant the pair have become romantic recently. And Big Sean has now commented on the true nature of their relationship.

'Me and her make a lot of music together and the chemistry between me and her when we work is great'

“I was the first rapper to perform at the White House, I performed there with Ariana so that was an honour,” he told MTV News.

“Me and her make a lot of music together and the chemistry between me and her when we work is great. We got more in the works too. I feel like her voice is crazy, [just] that that big voice comes out of her is insane. I was probably one of the first people to tweet about her music; me and her been friends for years before anything else.”

Speculation the musicians are lovers hit a fever pitch when they were caught holding hands by backstage cameras at the MTV VMAs last month.

But Big Sean isn’t angry about being filmed locking fingers with Ariana.

“I had no problem with it,” he smiled.

But the 21-year-old The Way hitmaker shied away from addressing whether their relationship has become more than platonic in the past.

When quizzed by Ryan Seacrest on his US radio show, she seemed tongue-tied over the subject.

“I mean, I guess, curiosity man, it’ll kill you,” Ariana blushed. “I don’t know what to say, Ryan. Why are you doing this me?” she demanded.

The singer admitted she isn’t opposed to discussing her relationship with Sean entirely. She simply refused to share details about her personal life with eager listeners.

“I’ll tell you. I’ll tell you when we’re not on the air. I trust you,” she told the radio host. “I’ve known you a long time. I don’t know about these millions of people listening in right now.”
