Singers Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift are urging their followers to stay at home amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Grammy winners Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift took completely different approaches when they took to social media on Sunday to encourage their young fans to take social distancing more seriously.
“I follow you online and I love you guys so much and need to express my concern that things aren’t being taken seriously enough right now,” wrote Swift in a carefully crafted text post shared to her 128 million followers on her Instagram story.
But Ariana didn’t hold back any punches on her Instagram story, where she sarcastically stated that 'Your hip hop yoga class can wait’, in response to fans refusing to self-isolate.
Fans were quick to agree with the 7 rings songstress.
“Queen of saving humankind” one fan commented
“Well said, #WashYourHands, sanitise and protect others. Stay safe everyone.” another fan added with a repost of a message from the department of health and social care.
Taylor continued: “I’m seeing lots of get together and hangs and parties still happening. This is the time to cancel plans. Actually, truly isolate as much as you can, and don’t assume that because you don’t feel sick that you aren’t possibly passing something on to someone elderly or vulnerable to this.”
The Lover singer emphasized that the present epidemic is proving to be a “really scary time but we need to make social sacrifices right now”.
Unlike Taylor, Ariana continued to treat her words like ammunition, even taking to twitter to further state her thoughts.
I keep hearing from a surprising amount of people statements like – ‘This isn't a big deal" / "We'll be fine" / "We still have to go about our lives’ – and it's really blowing my mind,” Ariana wrote on her Insta story.
