Her father may have made his last appearance in the film’s seventh instalment, but Meadow Walker is a permanent fixture in the Fast & Furious family.

Meadow recently shared a sweet photo of herself embracing her dad's Fast & the Furious franchise co-star Vin Diesel alongside his 13-year-old daughter, Hania.

The 22-year-old captioned the photo "family," in a nod to the hugely popular film series' collection of central characters.

Meadow, an up-and-coming model who landed her first major ad campaign with design house Proenza Schouler earlier this year, regularly shares heartfelt snaps with Vin (53) and his brood.

Last year she posted a pic of herself with Hania and Vin's other two children, Vincent (11) and Pauline (6), and captioned it, ‘Family, forever’.

Vin, whose real name is Mark Sinclaire, has treated Meadow like one of his own over the years.

"I could say that I’m so proud of the person you’re becoming but the truth is I’ve always been proud of you," he wrote on Instagram in 2019, when she celebrated her 21st birthday."Happy Birthday Meadow!" he continued in the caption.

"I know it's your 21st and you wanted to go big in Japan, but the family has a cake waiting for you when you get home, so hurry. Love you, kid. Uncle Vin."

Last year, the XXX star shared a heartfelt tribute to his late friend Paul on the seventh anniversary of his death.

“Seven years... Not a day passes... All love, Always.”

Meadow also remembered her dad on this anniversary in November, sharing a throwback of the two of them snoozing together when she was little.

"A silly day to remember in sadness," she wrote in the caption. "Today's a celebration of the love and happiness you brought to the world. Here's a photo of my best bud & I napping."

Paul was killed at age 40 on 30 November 2013, after he crashed his Porsche Carrera GT into a metal pole. According to reports at the time, the crash was attributed to older tyres and high speeds, believed to be between 120 and 150km/h.

Paul was still filming Furious 7 at the time of his death, but the filmmakers were able to use his brothers Caleb and Cody Walker as stand-ins, augmented with CGI (Computer-generated imagery) to complete his scenes in the film.

"He loved being a dad. He was so proud of [Meadow]," Cody said of his late brother in 2018, while Paul's father, Paul Walker III, said of his son, "No father loved a child more than he did Meadow."

Meadow, who was only 15 when she inherited her father’s $25 million (R250m) estate, has also honoured her father in other meaningful ways.

In 2015, she founded the Paul Walker Foundation, a philanthropic organisation offering scholarships for students looking to study marine biology. Her father was an avid patron of ocean conservation and research.
