For MiCasa’s J-Something, this Christmas is going to be celebrated very differently because of the coronavirus. “My wife and I have been talking about what it should be like, and with everything that we’ve been through as humanity, I think we’ve found a lot of value in just being with the people that matter,” he says.

The singer and celebrity chef plans to cook up a storm for wife Cordelia “Coco” Godi and their two sons. “Food is an event in our house, we have themed food nights like Taco Tuesday and Pizza Fridays,” J-Something says.

“For Christmas we’ll have this beautiful table filled with samp and roasted pork, arroz-doce (Portuguese sweet rice) and stuffed magwinya (vetkoek).”

“We take our culture quite seriously,” he adds. “We enjoy celebrating my Portuguese roots and my wife’s Tswana heritage through food and listening to some good music – that’s what Christmas is for us.”

The couple have been married for four years but up until recently, the muso preferred to keep his wife out of the public eye. “She’s been on a couple of gigs with me and sometimes it gets crazy, so I decided to shield her from this world of opinion,” J-Something tells YOU.

“I didn't want my wife to be bashed for anything because she’s not worthy of being bashed.”

These days, however, he’s been showing her off on social media a lot more. On her birthday he posted a heartfelt message to social media, alongside a picture of him and a beaming Coco. “You are beautiful, you are strong, you are brave, you are caring, you are super thoughtful, you are sexy,” J-Something wrote.

“My passion for you increases like the many new stars in the night sky...thank you for loving me the way you, thank you for being my partner in love, to learn to be love with you has been the greatest honor of my life and I will go down to my grave loving you a little more with each day I get given on this earth with you.”
