The thriller, which was shot in Italy, was directed by Ridley Scott and is based on Sara Gay Forden’s book, House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.

The film portrays the events and devastating aftermath of Patrizia Reggiani’s (Lady Gaga) plot to kill her husband, Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), the grandson of renowned Italian fashion designer Guccio Gucci.

Reggiani was later found guilty and sentenced to 29 years in prison. She was released in October 2016. The murder saw her being dubbed “the black widow”.
