The Nasa space probe Osiris-Rex has managed to collect samples of an asteroid.
Osiris-Rex was launched in 2016 and arrived at the asteroid Bennu in 2018. It took two years because space objects, including planets, are millions of kilometres apart and not at all as close together as movies would lead us to believe.
The probe’s mission was to collect at least 60g of material from Bennu’s surface.
