The first three Nobel Prizes for 2020 were awarded to three groups of researchers who have made scientific breakthroughs.
Roger Penrose, Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez were awarded the 114th Nobel Prize in Physics for their discovery of a previously unknown type of black hole in our solar system. Physics is the science that deals with matter, its motion, and how it reacts to energy and forces. The three scientists’ discovery helps us understand the universe better.
Andrea is only the fourth woman to win this prize.
