Tea is a beverage made by steeping the dried leaves of the tea plant in hot water. Tea is extremely popular in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Britain and its former colonies. After water, it’s the most-consumed drink in the world.

Most types of tea are black or green, though both come from the same type of plant. The tea plant originates in China but is now cultivated all over the world – even on small scale in South Africa.
