When the coronavirus arrived in South Africa, Desere Goliath (45), from Kraaifontein in Cape Town, prayed that if anyone in her family had to contract the virus, it’d rather be her.

“I look back now and say, ‘Look what I prayed for and I came through it’,” she tells YOU.

“I think there’s a reason my husband and I had to go through it. If it had been another family member or a friend, they might not have survived.”
