As far as wedding songs go, Taylor Swift is often a favourite. But for one couple there was an even better way to incorporate their favourite artist into their wedding ceremony: getting married at one of her concerts.
Rene Hurtado (30) and her fiancé, Max Bochman, recently tied the knot at one of Taylor's The Eras Tour performances.
Rene is a mega Taylor Swift fan and always planned to incorporate the pop star's music into her big day. She was in the audience on the opening night of the concert in Glendale, Arizona, waiting for a song that was romantic enough for her wedding day, Today.com reports.
She found just the one: Invisible String, which references an ancient Asian folk myth about a red thread of fate tying two people together. The man and the woman are destined to meet, regardless of time, place and circumstance.
The following night she and Max were back in the front row – Rene in a white tea-length gown and Max in a tuxedo.
As soon as Invisible String from Taylor’s 2020 album Folklore started playing, the ceremony started.
Sensing that something romantic was brewing, the other concert-goers around them sat down so they'd be the only ones standing.
Rene's maid of honour had been ordained so she could officiate at the wedding, which was carried out during the song.
As the newlyweds shared a kiss, other concert-goers cheered.
In a TikTok video that Rene shared after the event, she revealed a member of Taylor's tour team approached them after they exchanged vows and gave them a guitar pick.
The singer herself also liked the video, which the newlywed regards as the highest honour.
"She is definitely my entire life," Rene says.
"Any Swiftie would recognise the need for and desire to include Taylor Swift in your marriage. She has the most beautiful love songs to dedicate to your spouse. She is the soundtrack to my life and is very important to me."

The couple are delighted at the whole thing. They'd kept quiet about their plans and shared it only with their families and a few friends.
“I think they thought it was kind crazy," Rene says.
The couple say Taylor's music has played a significant role in the their love story, which unfolded over the past nine years. While they both love the pop star's Folklore album, Rene's favourite song is My Tears Ricochet, while Max's is The 1.
"We wanted to get married ahead of our wedding and we definitely figured this would be a more fun way to do it than a courthouse," Rene explains.
She adds that they will be having another ceremony next year so friends and family can celebrate their nuptials.
