A celebration often calls for cake – but when a baker recently saw DJ Black Coffee accepting a Grammy Award she knew it called for a big cake. And big it was by anyone’s standards.

Kurhula Makhuvele baked a life-sized cake that resembled the award-winning DJ, creating a confectionery that came in at 2m tall and weighed 150kg.

She wanted to honour the achievement of the renowned DJ – real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo – who won the Grammy for best dance/electronic album for Subconsciously.
