It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon when Vanderbijlpark pastor Robin Janse van Rensburg treated his wife, Clarissa, to a romantic picnic on the banks of the Vaal River in Parys, in the Free State.
Their picnic was interrupted by screaming, Clarissa recalls.
"We were only sitting for a short while when we heard the screams. It wasn't a scream for help, it was just continuous and distressed screams," Clarissa says.
