A young bride with stage 4 cancer has died less than 24 hours after she fulfilled her dying wish of getting married.

Fatin Nursyahirah Yusuf of Malaysia married her fiancé, Azzam, on 2 August but sadly died early the next day.

The 24-year-old had been suffering from sarcoma cancer.

Fatin’s brother Shukur (30) documented his sister’s wedding on social media and said she was admitted to hospital the next day after her breathing deteriorated.

In a post that’s been widely shared, Shukur wrote for the first time since his sister’s death, “God loves her more and she left us with her mom, dad, husband and me by her side.”

Opening up for the first time since his sister’s death, he told local media Fatin had undergone two surgeries and countless radiotherapy sessions since last year, but the cancer had spread and nothing more could be done.

Shukur added it was his sister’s dying wish to go ahead with her wedding.

The couple got engaged in June last year and both families approved of the union despite Fatin’s condition.

“We were moved by Azzam and his family’s sincerity. They accepted an ailing person as part of their lives,” Shukur says.

He also wrote that the small ceremony was attended by loved ones and that his sister looked beautiful.

Shukur said his family accepted Fatin’s passing as part of God’s plan.

“She was a happy-go-lucky person. But she’d keep her problems to herself as she never wanted to trouble anyone,” he said.
