A friendship of ten years came to an abrupt end after *Claire, breastfed her best friend’s son while babysitting him.

Claire, who gave birth to her second child two weeks after her friend *Stacey became a mom to her firstborn, wanted to alleviate the stress from the new mother and offered to babysit.

But things went south when she realized Stacey neglected to pack formula for her son, The Sun reported.

Claire posted the incident on Reddit. She says Stacey’s son has a digestion problem and has to take special formula.

“She brought him over and we put the babies together,” Claire wrote.

“I asked her if she’d packed diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, and bottles in his diaper bag and she said yes. Then she left.”

A couple of hours later and after nursing her own baby, Claire realised that Stacey had forgotten to pack in the special formula for her son, Daily Mail reported.

The mom-of-two called and texted her bestie numerous times but without any success.

Panicked that the baby, who’d now started crying heavily, might get sick, Claire decided to breastfeed him.

But to her surprise when she told Stacey, who returned three hours later, what she’d done she was displeased.

“I remained calm but told her that she can’t leave her child with someone and not answer when that person calls or texts because it might actually be a serious emergency,” Claire told Stacey upon her arrival.

“I told her how badly he got upset and how worried I was, so I breastfed him myself.

“She freaked out on me and accused me of some horrible things and then left,” Claire wrote in the post.

Claire also learned that Stacey had blocked her on social media after a mutual friend told her Stacey was saying awful things about her online.

Claire’s post received mixed reactions from other users.

“It’s not an odd reaction at all; it’s just misplaced. Mothers are under an intense amount of pressure to breastfeed,” one user commented.

While another added, “I honestly and truly think she’s just really stressed right now and this reaction might be a manifestation of her own fears and feelings.”
