HONEY TV is set to premiere the brand-new reality cooking show, House of Chefs, on 13 August 2021 at 9 PM on DStv 173. The highly anticipated show sees eight young African chefs from seven different countries come together to face-off for a cash prize and a coveted internship. South African celebrity chef, Siba Mtongana is the shows judge having had her own cooking shows on DStv such as Siba’s Table and Cooking with Siba. “It is the first of its kind for a Pan-African audience as it puts a spotlight on food from around the continent” says Mtongana.

Having grown up on Uganda’s TV screens, Sheilah Gashumba is one of the country's most recognizable media faces. The TV host, social media influencer and businesswoman now joins HONEY TV as the host of House of Chefs. The child-star turned bona fide media personality has had the East African TV market at her fingertips since she was a teenager. “I am a huge fan of the Honey TV” says Gashumba. “I was watching The Buzz and The Next Big Trender before the channel contacted me to host a show. I love the channel and I'm super excited to be on HONEY.”

The show features Tobe Onyenyeonwu (Nigeria), Thabo Phake (South Africa), Kalu Chikamba (Zambia), Marry Ziringa (DRC), Ingrid Musabe (Rwanda), Ruth Buliaumu (DRC), Les Sempele (Kenya) and Joseph Odom (Ghana) as the hopefuls for season one. All eight chefs are vying for a coveted internship at Siba Mtongana’s prestigious self-titled restaurant and a R70K cash prize.
