Artist Autumn Ying has brought the People’s Princess back to life with an amazing collection of illustrations.

Autumn, who is from Malaysia, took to Instagram to share images that show what it would be like for many members of the royal family if Diana hadn’t died in that 1997 car crash in a Paris tunnel.

In a drawing to mark Mother’s Day, Autumn drew Di with the Cambridges. Prince William has his arm around his mom, while she laughs alongside Duchess Kate; Kate’s mom, Carole Middleton; and the Cambridge kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

“Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed, and held so dear,” Autumn captioned her post.

Another series of images shows a radiant Diana standing between William and Harry in front of a Christmas tree. In yet another, the Princess of Wales is with her daughters-in-law, Kate and Meghan Markle, who are both wearing gorgeous gowns.

“You have been through so much. You have carried the burden of a thousand sleepless nights on your tired shoulders,” Autumn says of the picture.

“You have waited and you have waited, and you have found unimaginable loss in the very place where you thought you would find abundance.”

In another, Diana is seen with all four grandchildren – George, Charlotte, Louis and Archie – wearing costumes from Harry Potter for Halloween. Autumn says she created the pictures to show her followers the princess’ fun side.

“I would like to reimagine the joy, anticipation and fun of Princess Diana would have had with her grandkids for this spooky festival if she were still alive,” she says, adding that the image made her miss her late gran.

“I wish Heaven had a phone so I could hear her voice again. I thought of her today, but that is nothing new,” she says.

In one of her latest illustrations, Autumn pays tribute to Prince Philip, who died on 9 April. A smiling Diana is seen walking arm in arm with the Duke of Edinburgh along with the caption, “Dearest Pa. And so, we meet again.”

After receiving many requests, Autumn, who has 160 000 followers on Instagram, will be selling the illustrations and donating the proceeds to charity.

“For every art print purchased, the amount will be donated to UNICEF, in hope of helping the children in need out of malnutrition in Cambodia,” she wrote.
