She isn’t the first actress to portray the beloved People’s Princess and she probably won’t be the last – but this young woman with ties to South Africa may well be the best.

Emma Corrin has been praised for getting Diana down to a tee: the voice, the tilt of the head, the walk, the coy glances behind the fringe, the sadness, the shyness . . . In fact, blink and you’ll think you’re watching the real thing.

The 24-year-old actress plays Princess Diana in season 4 of hit Netflix series The Crown, portraying the beautiful-yet-troubled royal from a slightly awkward teenager to a young mother trapped in a loveless marriage in her late 20s.“It’s like seeing a ghost,” Vogue magazine said. “And hearing one too.”This is Emma’s biggest role to date and it came about quite by chance.
