PICS: Women wear their wedding dresses during lockdown to cheer themselves up

South Africa is among some of the many countries that recently announced a nationwide lockdown amid the novel coronavirus outbreak.

This has resulted in many people remaining indoors with some companies enforcing work-from-home policies.

But between keeping the children entertained and practising self-care, it can all become overwhelming.

This is why when American author Curtis Sittenfeld’s children asked her to wear her “wedding dress at lunch” she couldn’t think of a reason not to, The Sun reports.


The 44-year-old shared the moment with her followers on Twitter, sparking a trend of many women around the world pulling out their weddings gowns to spread some joy.

“Me either . . . alone at work,” another user named Marybeth Campbell captioned a picture of herself captured while at work in her wedding dress.

“Needed to train,” another woman captioned a snap of herself while attempting to get on her bicycle.
